The wrestling box needs to be checked off in order for your student to be a part of the wrestling team. If you are unsure if you filled out the form, please fill it out again and send it with your student to the first wrestling team practice.

Extracurricular Activities

Our extracurricular programs are in full swing, from sports to arts and various clubs. It’s fantastic to see so many students getting involved and building community spirit. If your child hasn’t signed up yet, there’s still time to explore the different activities available.

Safety Reminders

With the changing weather, I’d like to remind everyone to dress warmly and be cautious on the roads around the school. Mornings will start to be slippery, and we want to ensure the safety of all our students. Additionally, please remember to adhere to traffic safety rules during drop-off and pick-up times. If you witness any serious traffic infractions that could put our students or their families at risk, we encourage you to call 311 so that the City of Calgary can take appropriate action. Together, we can help ensure the safety of everyone arriving at and leaving Branton School.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Wishing you all a great weekend and a good week ahead!

Sebastien Picard, Principal

Grade 7 Science Field Trip

On Thursday, October 17, all eight of our Grade 7 classes enjoyed a successful field trip to the Calgary Zoo. Students explored the different global regions and searched for a variety of animal characteristics (fur, scales, carnivore, etc), habitats and conservation statuses in French with their classmates, drawing connections with the Science 7 Ecosystems unit. We had beautiful fall weather and lots of fresh air while we got our steps in!

Attendance Protocols

When your child has a prearranged Dr. appointment, etc - in order to facilitate your child being dismissed with minimal interruption to their classroom, we ask the following:

  • A note that comes to school with your child the day of the appointment. The student will have this note to show the teacher of the class they have to leave from, then bring the note to show the office and sign out in the signout book. This minimizes learning interruption and potential delays for you. We do realize emergencies happen and, in that case, are happy to help.
  • If your child is absent please call the attendance line at 403 777 7440 ext 5000. This line is checked very first thing in the morning and is the best chance of accuracy. You can email your teacher if you like, but please be aware the office needs to be aware so that attendance can be accurate. Please do not email the general mailbox for Branton School  If your child is going to be away or late as this mailbox is not checked until later in the day. A call to the Attendance line is always checked first.

Thank you so much for your cooperation.
