As we approach the Winter Break, I want to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the incredible work and accomplishments we have achieved together since September 2024. It has been an inspiring start to the school year, filled with meaningful learning and memorable experiences.
Celebrating Our Branton School Community
- Grade 7 Late French Immersion Students: Watching our Grade 7 Late French Immersion students begin their journey of learning to speak French has been remarkable.
- Field Trips and Activities: Our field trips have enriched the students' learning experiences, providing opportunities for exploration and growth.
- Sports Teams and Clubs: Congratulations to our sports teams for their successes and to our vibrant clubs, like the Debate Club, for fostering creativity and critical thinking.
- Parent Volunteers: A heartfelt thank you to our parent volunteers. Without your support, many of these opportunities for our students wouldn’t be possible.
- Staff Dedication: To our dedicated staff—your commitment to organizing, teaching, and engaging students in meaningful learning tasks is deeply appreciated.
- Administrative Team: Thank you to our secretaries for ensuring accurate documentation and prioritizing student safety every day.
- School Council and Association Parents: Your collaboration and volunteer hours help create a strong partnership between home and school, benefiting all our students.
- Students: Finally, to our amazing students—you bring so much joy, energy, and enthusiasm to Branton School. You are the heart of our community.

Volunteers Needed for Casino Fundraiser
We are still looking for 3 parent volunteers for our February 2025 Casino fundraiser at the Elbow River Casino. This event is our school’s largest fundraiser, directly benefiting all students by supporting vital resources and programs across departments. If you’re able to help, please consider volunteering—it’s a meaningful way to contribute to our community.

We are excited to announce that the Branton Tigers Volleyball tryout season will begin in January 2025. Below are the tryout dates and times for our Junior and Senior teams for boys and girls. Please encourage your child to participate and arrive prepared with proper athletic attire.

- Monday, January 6: 3:15–5:00 PM (Tryout #1)
- Wednesday, January 8: 7:15 AM (Tryout #2)

Additional Notes
- Boys' games will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, while girls' games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Games are scheduled to begin on January 27, 2025.
- The schedule may be subject to slight changes depending on the number of students trying out for each team. Please check daily bulletins and communicate with coaches for any updates.
- The anticipated cost for each student is $65 ($50 for the season, $10 for year end celebration, and $5 for equipment renewal).

Fun Lunches are Coming
The third Fun Lunch is coming on December 17 (Banzai!). Deadline to order is Saturday December 14. We will be looking for Volunteers. Please follow the link for Volunteers. You can place your order through Healthy Hunger Link Order Food.

Lost and Found
Just a quick note to remind your students to check Lost and Found for any items they may be missing. On Wednesday Dec. 18, The Diabetes Association will be picking up all of the items left behind and donating them to families in need.
