Subject: Welcome Back and Happy New Year, Branton Community!

Dear Branton Families,

Happy New Year 2025! I hope you all had a restful and joyful winter break. We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to school and are excited for all the opportunities and events the new year will bring.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up at Branton this January:

  • Volleyball Tryouts for Junior and Senior Girls and Boys teams began this week.
  • William Aberhart Visit for Grade 9 Students: In January, representatives from William Aberhart High School will meet with our Grade 9 students to provide information about high school and the selection of their options for September 2025.
  • Teacher Recommendations for Grade 9 Students: In early January, Grade 9 teachers will complete and send home their recommendations for students heading to William Aberhart High School. If you have any questions about this process, which we do every year to support our students in their transition to Grade 10, please contact William Aberhart High School directly.
  • January 20 at 7:00 PM: Join us for our School Council meeting.
  • January 22: Fun Lunch - Mucho Burrito.
  • January 28: Report Cards and IPPs will be available. Report cards will be accessible online via PowerSchool, while IPPs will be sent home as hard copies for students who have an IPP.

In January, we’ll also connect with our 18 feeder schools to share information about our Late and Early French Immersion programs. We are excited to invite future students and their families to our 2025 Open House on February 6, 2025, at 6:30 PM (doors open at 6:15 PM). Please help us spread the word in your community!

A friendly reminder:

  • Drive safely around Branton School. The speed limit is 30 km/h, and no U-turns are allowed to ensure everyone’s safety.
  • School opens at 8:15 AM. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children until the start of the school day.

Finally, we want to remind you how important you are to us. You are the best partners we could ask for in ensuring your children’s success. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our teachers with any questions, or to let them know how much you appreciate their dedication and hard work.

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth and success for everyone at Branton!

Sincerely,

Sébastien Picard - Principal
