This is a reminder that the Early Dismissal Form for students who wish to go home after their June final exams and PATs was sent home on May 22, 2025. If you would like your child to be dismissed once their exam is complete, please return the paper copy of the form by May 30, 2025. 

This allows us to enter your child’s absence in the system and plan accordingly. Please note that Branton School remains open for the full day on exam days. We encourage students to stay and take advantage of academic support or simply enjoy a supervised, quiet environment.

Test Strategies

As we begin PAT writing exams next week, here are a few strategies you can share with your child to help them prepare and manage stress effectively: 

  • The day before the exam: 
    ●  Avoid studying late at night; getting a good night’s sleep is essential. 
    ●  Pack needed materials (pencils, eraser, water bottle, and a snack). 
  • The morning of the exam:
    ●   Eat a healthy breakfast to support focus and energy. 
    ●   Arrive at school on time to avoid unnecessary stress. 
  • During the exam: 
    ●  Read instructions carefully before starting. 
    ●  Take deep breaths to stay calm when feeling overwhelmed. 
    ●  Manage time wisely — don’t spend too long on one question. 

All student work must be submitted to teachers by Monday, June 9, 2025, as this is the final deadline.

Please note a few items regarding the email that went home yesterday with the Exam schedule .

  • Dismissal Forms are for Grades 7, 8 and 9 only.
  • We require the paper form with your original signature - no email copies please
  • If you require a paper copy, they will be available in the main offi ce
  • All students will be writing exams, however, Grades 6 and 9 will be writing Provincials.

MyCBE Access for Parents

Effective May 30 , MyCBE/PowerSchool marks, comments and statuses will be turned off to the public to enable Teachers to begin working on Report Card information. This feature will be turned back on again on June 23 to enable Parents access to their student’s report cards. Branton School will not be printing hard copy report cards. All student report cards will be available to view or print through your MyCBE access.

Music Notes 

Here is the final information regarding Band this year! Rehearsal schedule will also be in google classroom, as well as on my door. We have one final run through before the concert June 3. 

  • Tuesday, May 27 – Grade 7 morning rehearsal, all members. Drop off 7:15 am; rehearse from 7:20 – 8:20am 
  • Tuesday, May 27 – Grade 8 only lunch hour 11:55 – 12:25pm all members 
  • Wednesday, May 28 – Grade 8 & 9 morning rehearsal, all members. Drop off 7:15 am; rehearse from 7:20-8:20am 
  • Thursday, May 29 – Grade 9 only lunch hour 11:55 – 12:25 pm all members 

Concert – June 3. 7:00 pm start (at Branton) Arrival times are as follows:

  • 6:15 – all percussionist and grade 8 band students for SET UP 6:30 – all grade 7 & 9 students.
  • At the end of the concert, GRADE 7 students will be taking down chairs and stands. 
  • All percussion players will help move items back to the bandroom. 

All students need to wear their Band shirts and dark pants, no shorts or hats. If your child does not have a band shirt, then they can wear a plain, black shirt (no writing or decals) with their dark pants.
