Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Let me start by saying MERCI to all of you who came on September 6 to meet the teachers!!
One of our focuses at Branton School is to have ongoing communication with you! You can expect all year long to receive the Weekly NewsLetter. We believe that parents and guardians are primary partners in education. We appreciate your support in providing information to the school about your child and their learning. Please do not hesitate to contact the school with information or if you have questions or concerns. We appreciate your role as primary educators.
At the heart of our shared work is a commitment to create strong partnerships with our parents/guardians, and to provide you with timely and important information when necessary. I would strongly encourage all parents to familiarize themselves with the Calgary Board of Education's Administrative Regulation 6005 Student Code of Conduct, and Administrative Regulation 6006 Progressive Discipline, My goal for all students is to arrive at school feeling safe and secure. As a staff our focus is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students. A primary goal will always be to establish and enhance respectful relationships within our learning community.
Your feedback, engagement and support is very much appreciated.

Terry Fox Day – Sept. 15
This year, we will be conducting our Terry Fox Run on the morning of Sept. 15th. From the beginning of period 2 until nutrition break (9-10:30am), the students will be engaged in a walk/run in the community along the same route as past years. We are looking for PARENT VOLUNTEERSto be stationed at corners/road crossings to help ensure the safety of our students as well as reduce any confusion students may have about where to go. If you can help us out by volunteering, please contact Judd Casper - jocasper@cbe.ab.ca
In addition to the traditional walk/run, Terry Fox Day will be our first Spirit Day of the year! Students are asked to wear the following colours depending on their grade: 6 – Red, 7 – Blue, 8 – Purple, 9 – Green. In the second half of the day, we will be having our first DANCE. The Dance will run after our nutrition break until the end of the day (11:15am-12:45pm).
