Lates
We have experienced a very high number of late students so far this year. Although it has improved with the email sent home, we continue to have many late students in the morning. We recognize that ‘life happens’, however, we would like to emphasize the importance of being on time.
Procedures for Students Leaving During Class
Many have asked for clarification on the procedures for students coming and going during class time for appointments, etc. We would ask that you plan with your child prior to departing and send them with a note that they can show the teacher of the class they are in, then bring the note to the office and sign out to come and meet you. We appreciate your assistance in helping to minimize interruption to your child’s classroom. Also, often students are outside in PhysEd classes which could delay your connection.
Health Measures
If you are sick, stay home. If you don’t have a test, test negative, or choose not to test yourself, you should stay home until you feel well enough to resume normal activities and you have been free of fever for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. This is because your symptoms could be caused by a different virus that can be spread to other people.
If your symptoms get worse you can call Health Link at 811 for further advice, or speak to your healthcare provider.
Most people recover from respiratory illness without special treatment and can manage mild symptoms at home.

Quebec 2024!
To all Grade 8 students/parents
We would like to invite you to the Quebec trip(s) presentation on September 28 at 6:45pm at Branton School. The goal of this meeting if for Mr. Abbott and myself to share the current information we received from Promotour about our May 2024 Quebec Trip(s). This session will include the process for families to express their interest about this unique cultural experience.
This week in Études sociales 6, students are redesigning the Canadian flag to include symbols that reflect their values and the diversity of our vast country! If you had to redesign our flag, what would you include?
