Fun Lunch Sept. 27

The order deadline for Mucho Burrito on September 27 is MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. Fun lunches for October-December have been added to the Healthy Hunger website.

CBE Volunteers

In June 2023, the Calgary Police Service introduced a new system to process Police Information Checks {PICS).

Significant Changes

  • Volunteers must now pay $21.25 (PIC application fee $15 plus CPS admin fee $6.25)
  • PIC letter is no longer sent directly to the CBE. Applicant must download and submit to school.
  • If PIC letter is not downloaded by the applicant within 60 days, the applicant must re-apply.

Front Hall Display

WE are looking for photos of students and staff in nature showing their connection to the land that would be for our new front hall display. If you would like to submit a photo, please send them to Mrs. Walker at kawalker@cbe.ab.ca. Submissions would be due by September 28.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation | Sept. 30

On September 30, 2023 I am inviting you to reflect on what you would do to honour survivors.

We call upon the federal government. in collaboration with Aboriginal peoples, to establish, as a statutory holiday, a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Bake Sale for the B.C. & N.W.T evacuees Initiative

Band 7 Reminder

Just a reminder that our Grade 7 Band Starter Night is happening on Thursday, September 28 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the school. Please drop off your child at 5:50 pm (PLEASE not sooner, as I am getting everything ready). They will be finished at 8:00 pm and I would lave to have everyone picked up at that time. They will be excited to bring their instruments home and show you what they have learned. I am so excited to get started. Apples Coming in September 27 **Volunteers needed**

Apples from Davison Orchards will arrive on Wednesday, September 27. Parents can pick these up starting at 3:15 pm. Parents should park close to the Staff door (parking lot at back of school) for pick-up.

We still need a couple of parent volunteers to assist with the pick-up process. If you could help on the 27th afterschool, please contact Mr. Ormiston (pjormiston@cbe.ab.ca).

Quebec 2024!

To all Grade 8 students/parents

We would like to invite you to the Quebec trip(s) presentation on September 28 at 6:45pm at Branton School. The goal of this meeting if for Mr. Abbott and myself to share the current information we received from Promotour about our May 2024 Quebec Trip(s). This session will include the process for families to express their interest about this unique cultural experience.
