I invite all of you to listen to this French song together: On dirait” by Amir — watch on YouTube. Why this pick? It’s an uplifting pop song about that person who helps us see life “in colour,” keeps us hopeful, and reminds us not to give up. The chorus suggests “on dirait qu’on a tous un ange”—we all have someone who lifts us up—making it a gentle prompt for talking at home about gratitude, support, and resilience. LyricsTranslate+1

Optional conversation starter: Who’s someone that helps you believe in yourself, and how can we be that person for others?

Did you know? Treaty 7

Treaty 7 was signed on September 22, 1877, at Blackfoot Crossing (LINK), located on the Bow River in what is now southern Alberta. This agreement was between the Canadian Crown and several First Nations, including the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Tsuu T\'ina, and Stoney-Nakoda peoples. The treaty aimed to facilitate the Canadian government's planned transcontinental railway and westward expansion by gaining access to Indigenous lands, though its interpretation and long-term impacts are viewed differently by the Crown and the First Nations.
